<dcterms:coverage><![CDATA[Everyone’s life has drastically changed since the world entered a pandemic from COVID-19. The things every college student took for granted like athletics, graduation, in person classes, and dinner in dining hall was suddenly all taken away from us. This video is a message from college students to college students expressing the importance of practicing social distancing. Practicing social distancing is something that can save a person who is more susceptible to disease than you are. We are staying home to save the lives of our parents and grandparents. This time is something no one has ever experiences before and it is hard for young adults to accept since they feel they are wasting away their college time. I think it is important to preserve this video because it expresses the unity of college students everyone coming together during this pandemic. I would want someone to notice the transition from the beginning of this video of the college boy saying nothing is going to stop him from partying to the rest of the video of college kids expressing the importance of staying home to help flatten the curve of COVID-19 deaths. ]]></dcterms:coverage>

<dcterms:title><![CDATA[CVS SVP Voicemail to Colleagues ]]></dcterms:title>
<dcterms:description><![CDATA[This was a telephone voice message from Emmanuel Kolady Senior Vice President of Eastern US CVS stores sent out to CVS colleagues reminding them of the measures being implicated during the COVID-19 pandemic. The senior vice president begins by addressing their actions to provide personal protection for colleagues. On top of the installation of plexiglass barriers at check out, UPS shipments of hands sanitizer, lysol wipes, and masks were sent in by CVS headquarters for colleague usage. Next, Kolady goes on to speak of the sick time put in place. For the first time, part-time employees are now being offered 24 hours of paid leave. If a colleague has a temperature of 100.4 degrees or higher at the onset of their shift, they are allotted 72 hours of leave. Lastly, CVS began offering financial support to colleagues who need extended measures. Those who struggle with childcare are given an additional $100 per day to put towards daycare as well as a relief fund being put in place for those seeking additional financial resources given the circumstances. ]]></dcterms:description>

<dcterms:coverage><![CDATA[Being a commuter and spending limited time on campus prevented me from experiencing much of the uncertainties at our college. However, working at an "essential business" during the pandemic allowed me to experience the many new regulations that continue to change the norms of every day life. On top of the changes addressed in this voicemail my city of employment, Chicopee, continued to implement more regulations to prevent the spread of the virus such as limits on purchases, regulation of what was being sold, reduced capacities of store, and reduced store hours. This calm, reassuring message displays a much different tone than what was experienced in the moment at these essential businesses. The urgency for personal protection led to expedited packages being shipped in multiple times a week in mass quantities rather than once a week yet there still remained a shortage all over the nation. Remaining open caused colleagues to adapt to new policy changes taking place almost each shift. It is questionable if some of the regulations such a plexiglass dividers will ever be lifted. The changes made during the COVID-19 pandemic continue to change the every day regularities we all once experienced and that is emphasized in this file. ]]></dcterms:coverage>

<dcterms:coverage><![CDATA[These were four emails that I received that accurately convey the tone by which Springfield College approached the Coronavirus pandemic during its early stages. It started off with a general warning, perhaps not even a warning, but an informative email about a situation unfolding in the world. Fast forward a little over a month later, and the college starts having to make some big decisions that directly impact its students. A month later, education is fully online. These emails, and the time frame they convey, indicate the rapid nature by which the college was forced to react to the COVID-19 pandemic. I would hope that people looking at this document in the future would recognize the tone of the emails, and the way that our President handled the situation. She has been absolutely great throughout this whole crisis, and though she is having to deal with the weight of some unbelievably heavy decisions for the greater good of the community, she has done it with grace and with comforting words for the students that are being impacted the most. President Cooper's heart aches for the students, and that shows not only through her words, but her actions as well. ]]></dcterms:coverage>
