COVID-19 Forces Shutdown of Hair Salons
This is an image of three different on hair salons doors stating that they are closed due to the coronavirus in order to keep their employees and customers healthy. There are no people in the image, just signs on hair salons stating they are currently closed.
I chose this item because I wanted to focus on the eighteen percent of people who are unemployed right now due to COVID-19 and this image is a prime example of people who are out of work. I focused on hair salons because my family is close friends with two hair dressers who are currently out of work and suffering. One of the hair dressers told me they were told very suddenly that they needed to close so they weren't even able to prepare. These three signs were also all within fifteen minutes of each other so this show how many hair dressers must be unemployed around the country. Not only is this affecting themselves but also their families who they need to provide for.
