Description
This picture was taken when COVID was really bad so we had to run with masks. Although wearing masks while running was safer for everyone, wearing one while running was absolutely miserable. It seemed so much harder to breathe when wearing a mask. Thankfully we were allowed to slide our masks down when we were ten feet apart from someone else but if I wanted to catch up to someone, I would have to slide my mask back up. This was extremely hard because to catch up to someone you had to run faster which meant you would breathe harder. Wearing a mask while catching up to someone was the most miserable feeling. I felt like I could not run as fast with it.
Coverage
I chose this photo because cross country was a big part of my life during high school. I loved that sport and the experiences I had doing it shaped who I am today. I wanted to share my experience with cross country during COVID.
