Subject
Springfield College Men's Gymnastics Team
Description
The screenshot messages showcase the transpiration of events leading up to the College's cancellation of school due to the COVID-19 crisis. Head Coach Matt Davis gave updates of changes made to athletes of the Springfield College Men's Gymnastics Team as he was notified of them. Within the span of two days the Athletic Department gave instructions to alter the rest of the season, and by the end of the week the decision was made for all athletes to return home and for the rest of the NCAA season to be cancelled. The images are presented in timestamped chronological order and were chosen to convey the most relevant information.
Coverage
I chose this set of images in order to show one of the many different ways students were affected by the COVID-19 crisis. It displays just how quickly the status of the virus was changing and becoming more of a threat to the health and safety of students. It also shows how the virus impacted students regardless of whether or not they were personally inflicted by the health crisis. The images capture the immense change that the global virus brought to the Springfield College Community.
