This video captures the essence of what it is like to adapt to the changes of the COVID-19 pandemic, such as practicing social distancing, wearing masks, and sanitizing everything. It also shares the heart of a group of people who stepped up to serve their community during this time, and care for the children of essential workers so those workers can then focus on their job and care for the community. It is important to notice that during the pandemic it is even harder for children to understand what it going on, so the staff's video proves the need to be able to stay positive and have fun during this uncertain time.

The reasoning behind choosing this photo primarily is to show the experience of a Springfield College Student learning from home. In this image there is a whiteboard that was borrowed from my five year old niece, in order to imitate the whiteboards at school in the Learning Commons. Next to my whiteboard on the TV stand is my modem, which tends to stop working at least once a day. The only way I can guarantee WiFi access it to sit right next to my modem. As for the dog, she is meant to show the comforts and therapeutic aspects of home schooling. Lastly, I purposely showed my organic chemistry work because taking a science based course from home has been an extreme challenge compared to other courses. Overall this item is meant to show the resourcefulness, creativity, struggles, and joys of online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Past and Present Photo.JPG
Being at home in quarantine for so long, the only thing I can do to get outside but still be by myself is exercise. However, the beaches are closed and when I went to go to the track like I normally do, I found it to be closed. It is important to see how the town and the state of Maine are taking the virus very seriously as they should. This is affecting me and the other residents in York by making it a lot harder to get exercise. Because of this order, I now mainly stay in my house all day and hardly go outside. It is so hard to live in isolation for this long of a period without knowing when it will end. Everyone is taking all precautions needed to stop the spread of the coronavirus and that includes the closing of any and all public places. Closing the athletic field was surprising and eye opening for me. This shows how important and dangerous the virus can be and for everyone to be taking every cautionary measure possible.
